JANA SWASTHYA SEVA SANSTHA (JSSS) is a non-profit community based rural oriented State level Voluntary organization working towards empowering the poorest of the poor by addressing key issues on livelihood promotion, women empowerment, Health, skill training and placement, aspires to improve the living conditions of the poor and marginalized by adopting strategies through community initiative, participation and sensitization. Registered on 12 November 1990, the organization has worked among backward communities in the interior unreached pockets of western parts of tribal Odisha, identified as one of the most under developed district in the state. Women self help groups have been taken as the base for all interventions and livelihood activities enabling them to contribute towards mainstream development process. As a humanitarian organization, its core effort is to fighting poverty and social injustice. We place special emphasis on women and children & vulnerable youth.
JSSS having its own Land and training personnel with well equipped training Centre at Bhawanipatna Kalahandi district for conducting training programmes. Equipments like Over head Projector, Computers, training aids & Medical Equipments and ISMO Machine (25 nus) are available with it. Part time and full time Experts are also available with us.
Most of the members of the organization are experienced. Some experts are there to guide the members. Some experienced persons related to health service are also involved with JSSS.We have 25 male & female trained village level workers. We have hired the consultancy of Social Activist Sri Uma Shankar Kar, MSW, LL.B as our “Executive Director” to gear up its activities Besides that, three M.B.B.S. & BHMS qualified Doctors also inducted in our organization for providing better services. Some of our staffs have participated in different training programmes conducted by different organizations from time to time. Some of these organizations are: Viswa Yubak Kendra, New Delhi; NIPCCD, New Delhi; National Tuberculosis institute Bangalore; Xavier, Bhubaneswar; CINI, Kolkatta,
The organization has over 32 years of experience working with tribal communities by promoting forestry/Livelihood, NRM, Microenterprise. The staffs have strong knowledge and grassroots level experience in livelihood promotion, capacity building, networking, program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. They are familiar with all targeted villages and their socio economic issues. Their experience and leadership skills will therefore help smooth sail of any project.
The members and Volunteer of the organization had actively participated in different relief & rescue activities at the time of natural calamities in Odisha and other states.
